Go Green, a part of Globus Inc, is a corporate social responsibility project initiated by Globus Inc. It aims at collecting used, empty and defective printer cartridges and preventing them from entering the waste stream and polluting the environment.
Every empty cartridge that is recycled reduces the amount of plastic going into landfills. Cartridge recycling reduces the amount of natural resources needed to produce new cartridges. Laser , ink cartridges, small quantity of other office equipments are accepted in the ink jet material collection. The goal is green offices all across the UAE that contribute the minimum amount of waste to the communities waste stream. As of January 2006 the phase one of Go Green, focusing on printer cartridges is operational. Phase II and III with their focus on paper and office equipments, are to be initiated in the fall of 2006.
Every year 80 percent of the used cartridges end up in the landfill, where the plastic may take another thousand years to degrade. Think of -your life span and that of your garbage.
