 Some cartridge fact files
For every cartridge that is remanufactured, approximately 1 kg of plastic is withheld from going into the waste stream.
Resource conservationWith cartridges costing around AED 100 each it costs a fortune to keep your printer running. Hence recycling makes sense.
It saves money as also helps in saving the environment.
It takes up to 1000 years for the plastic to return to its natural state.
In 1997, the United Nations estimated that 41,000 tones of plastic, contained within printer cartridges, both laser and inkjet, were being dumped into landfill worldwide. Today this figure is about 80,000 tones.
Recycling is good for the environment Manufacturing a laser printer cartridge involves burning of about 3.5 liters of oil and fossil fuels, specially oil and natural gas.
History of cartridge
In 1984, printer cartridges were introduced and it was then that the printing of documents became easier. After years of changing ribbons and adding toner ink to reservoirs in the computer the replacing of printer cartridges came as an easier option.

By 1990-ink jet print cartridges had come to be accepted widely. Printer cartridges could now print in color as well as in black and white. It can print on paper (of all sizes), fabric and on film. It’s also used in a variety of settings worldwide and is a popular choice in printing.
